Born in Bolton, Rebecca studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, the Royal College of Music and at the Opera School of the Royal Academy of Music, where she was supported by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, the Alec Rowley Award, the Royal Masonic Trust, the Stanley Picker Trust, the Kohn Foundation and the Leverhulme Trust. She is a Susan Cholcott Scholar and a Royal Philharmonic Society Young Artist. She studies with Elizabeth Ritchie and Iain Ledingham.
Her considerable oratorio experience throughout the UK includes: La Petite Messe Solennelle, Bach Mass in B Minor, Mozart Requiem, Christmas Oratorio, Bach Magnificat, Mozart Mass in C Minor, Haydn Maria Teresa Mass, Schubert Magnificat, Schubert Mass in G, Samson, Vivaldi Magnificat, Nelson Mass, Carmina Burana, Schubert Stabat Mater, Requiem (Michael Haydn), Messiah, Ode on St. Cecilia’s Day, Mozart Missa Brevis in D, Pergolesi Stabat Mater, Vivaldi Gloria, Elijah.
Her opera roles include: Lady/Youth Death in Venice and Schoolgirl Playing Away (Benedict Mason) for the Bregenzer Festspiele adn Aldeburgh Festival, Onion Desire Caught by the Tail (Joseph Finaly) for the Grimeborn Opera Festival, Pamina The Magic Flute for the Beauforthuis Opera Festival in the Netherlands, First Bridesmaid The Marriage of Figaro for Opera East, Barbarina for Opera London, title role Mignon Brent Opera, Annina La Traviata for Hampstead Garden Opera, La Bergere/La Chouette L’enfant et les Sortilèges for BBIOS, Daphne The Airman’s Tale (G. McBurney) for The Yorke Trust, Suor Dolcina Suor Angelica for the RNCM, Amore The Coronation of Poppea for The Yorke Trust, Spirit Dido and Aeneas for the RNCM, Miles The Turn of the Screw for the RNCM, Gretel Hansel and Gretel for the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra (in concert).
