Born in Sweden of Polish-Jewish parents, Nina studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London, most recently on the Opera Course. Having gained the highest vocal Final Recital mark in her year, she was awarded the Clifton Prize for Singing and the Vice Principal’s Special Award for Notable Achievement. Nina was a recipient of the 2009/10 Karaviotis Scholarship, of the Miriam Licette Scholarship from the Musicians Benevolent Fund, and she was also supported by the Solti Foundation and the Josephine Baker Trust. She is currently taught by Jennifer Dakin and Jonathan Papp.
In her early career Nina performed as a soloist with the Stockholm Youth Symphony Orchestra and in more recent years has given solo recitals and oratorio performances in England and Sweden. These include Messiah at St Martin in the Fields and the Vivaldi Gloria at the Banqueting House in Whitehall. During last year’s London Händel Festival Nina sang as part of their lunchtime cantata series. Under the baton of William Christie, she has sung the role of the ‘Boy Soprano’ in Händel’s L’allegro. She has also performed the B Minor Mass conducted by Trevor Pinnock.
IIn the summer of 2009 Nina worked with Grange Park Opera where she covered the role of Eritea Eliogabalo. Nina has also sung Nelly Box Martha for the Opéra de Baugé. Her opera scene performances include Zerlina Don Giovanni, Susanna Le nozze di Figaro, Echo Ariadne auf Naxos, Fortuna L’incoronazione di Poppea, Gretel Hänsel und Gretel and Pamina Die Zauberflöte.
Nina took part in the Solti Accademia di Bel Canto where she took part in masterclasses with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Frederica von Stade.
Recent engagements: title role Semele under the baton of Sir Charles Mackerras and Laurence Cummings, a gala concert at the Bridgewater Hall as part of the Manchester Mid-day Concerts series, Isifile Il Giasone at Royal Academy Opera.
Current season/future plans: First Nymph Euridice (Stephen Oliver) for BYO, a Samling Foundation Masterclass.
